On Wednesday, January 14, our students had the privilege of hearing from United States Colonel Howard “Howie” Marotto. Colonel Marotto spoke about two essential leadership qualities—empathy and humility—and how these traits shape strong, effective leaders. He shared personal stories from his career to illustrate how understanding others and staying grounded can make a powerful difference in any team or organization.
He also emphasized the importance of persistence, reminding students that staying committed to their goals, even when challenges arise, is one of the most important keys to long-term success. His message encouraged students to believe in themselves, keep working hard, and never give up on what they hope to achieve. After speaking to the Varsity Falcon Club, Col. Marotto had the honor of touring Fairless High School and R.G. Drage, where he saw the incredible opportunities and outstanding work of our students.
